Desert sand rain in Antakya/Hatay
If a depression moves across Anatolia or the eastern Mediterranean Sea, it often absorbs dry Sahara air from Egypt and Libya which contains a lot of desert dust. Then this dust is washed out with the rain over Anatolia as a "blood rain". This dust rain is frequent in Turkey, so the manuring function for fields, woods and meadows is not insignificant.
