Storchs in Hatay
Two times a year storchs come to Hatay. They fly during autumn (September/October) over the gulf of Iskenderun and reach via Samandag Antakya. Only a few birds fly directly over the amanos mountains. The first rain in autum brings fresh new green fields and a lot of frogs to eat. Some storchs stay in Hatay.
Most of the them travel further south to Israel and Africa . In spring time the storchs come back and they find a lot of things to eat, before they travel further north to their final destination in eastern europe and even Germany . Th storchs go through the green fields near the small rivers and wet zones and look for frogs.
