Issos/Dörtyöl
The historic battle between Darios and Alexander the great took place in the year 333 b.C. in the village von Issos. The battle ended with an historic victory of Alexander. Darios fled over the Nur mountains to Syria. Alexander captured Darios wife and children. Today Dörtyöl is a industrial town. A local steel mill and a coal burning power plant is situated here.
