Samandag
The city Samandag, predominantly inhabited by the Aleviten, lies with her runners directly by the sea. The antique precursor of Samandag was Seleukeia which was founded by Seleukos Nikator in the year 300 B.C. Here the harbour of Antiochia lay. The antique city was bigger than today. There were more than 30,000 inhabitants for a long time long time. There are lots of vast beaches in the Orontes-delta in Samandag.
