Seleukia
On the edge from Samandag (Ceflik) you can visit parts of the city of Seleukia (founded 305 B.C.). This city was the capital of his kingdom for a short time. Then became Antiochia the capital, the today's Antakya. Seleukia became the harbour of Antiochia. About 400 metres away from the today's sea the harbour lay protected in a bay. However, on account of strong aggradation the harbour could not be held. Today the coast lies away substantially further. The Romans built a tunnel (Titus and Vespanius-tunnel), which keep away big water masses after strong rainfall from the harbour.
