Simeon Stylites cloister
Alleged the miracle saint Simeon the younger (521-592) spent his life on a 12-metres-high column in a cloister exactly between Antakya and Samandag. He could heal by laying on his hands. The cloister builded on a hill and few kilometres before the mouth of the Orontes, was initiated 541 A.D. Till the 13th century it was a pilgrim's purpose. Only few remains remind of the cloister. A great view compensates for the ruins.
